Fènix 11*23 travelling around the world

Fènix 11*23 has not stopped travelling and it has been in several places around the world .
At the International Film Festival in Catalan, Fic-cat, it has participated in the Feature Category in Competition and won the audience prize. It has been officially selected in the Panorama Category of the Shanghai International Film Festival (China). The “Rassegna de Cinema Catalano” in the Isola Festival (Italy) opened with the film. At the Montreal World Film Festival (Canada) it was selected in the Focus on the World Cinema Section. It was selected in the Official Panorama Section of Cinespaña 2013 in Toulouse (France). It participated in the Exhibition of Catalonia Cinema in Alghero (Italy). It was selected in the Spanish and Latin American Film Festival, Ajaccio (France). A screening was made at The Phoenix Film Society, Southampton (England). It has been selected in the Made in Catalonia Film Festival in Melbourne (Australia) where it will be screened this coming Sunday March 9th.

And in April this year it will participate in the Biennale du Cinéma Espagnol in Annecy (France) where it has been selected for the Competition Section. In May it will be screened at the cinEScultura, Festival of Spanish Film and Culture, Regensburg (Germany).

Fènix 11*23 at the festival of Salisbury, Rome and Vittorio Veneto

Fènix 11*23 now has a release date in the UK. It will be a special screening at the Salisbury International Arts Festival the 4th of June. The film by Joel Joan and Sergi Lara is also traveling to Italy, to the Rome Independent Film Festival to compete in the official “International Future Films” on April 7th. After the screening there will be a forum organized in collaboration with the National Institute of Italian Filmography on “Changing Patterns in the European production” in which Xavier Atance, executive producer of Fènix 11*23, has been invited to participate. The true story of Èric Bertran also compete in the Vittorio Veneto Film Festival, the International Film Festival for young audiences, in the official section Monte Baldo.

Fènix 11·23 achieves 7 nominations for the 2013 Gaudí Awards

Fènix 11·23 has obtained 7 nominations in 6 of the Gaudí Award’s categories granted by the Catalan Film Academy. The film has achieved the nomination for “Best film in catalan language”, “Best director” (Joel Joan and Sergi Lara), “Best leading actor” (Nil Cardoner and Àlex Casanovas), “Best supporting actress” (Ana Wagener), “Best supporting actor” (Lluís Villanueva) and for “Best production design” (Anna Vilella).

Besides the recognition from the members of the academy, Fènix 11·23 has obtained a big reception by the audience exceeding the 60.000 spectators in more than 100 cinemas in the whole catalan territory, Balearic Islands, Valencia and several towns in Spain, during its 2 months presence on the movie listings since the release the past November 9th.

The film Fènix 11·23, directed by Joel Joan and Sergi Lara, and written by Albert Plans Soriano and Hèctor Hernández Vicens, will be released next November 9th in cinemas. The film stars Nil Cardoner, the young actor from The Red Band Society who makes the leap to the big screen getting into the character of Èric Bertran. The cast also includes Àlex Casanovas, Rosa Gàmiz, Lluís Villanueva, Roberto Álamo (The skin I live in) and the special collaboration of Ana Wagener (The sleeping voice, Biutiful).
